So for years I was a bit of a nomad.
Now I'm just a reluctant rogue Californian.
I grew up in Napa, lived in Malibu, London, back to Malibu, Benicia, back to London, back to Benicia and finally landed here.
Portland, Oregon.
(read more about that adventure here)
Since 2004, I had not spent more than a year in any one place at a time.
That was my life for about five years.
Before I moved here in 2008, Portland was a mystery to me.
I'd never been here, but a clever combination of happenstance and wanderlust drew me in, wooed me and found me at home in the Pacific Northwest.
In 2009 I decided once and for all this was where I wanted to be.

Now, a few years later this little soapbox of mine has grown, as these things often do, into something much more than the link to my friends and family back in California that it began as.
(just add water!)
I write about my life in the city, my friends, the things I cook (and the things we eat), my work at a winery, the little things I make, the books I read, the music I listen to, the pictures I take, the places I go (I mentioned the wanderlust) and the God I love.
