can you show me just how far the east is from the west

I shall miss this little one most of all
(( and since we're on the subject, please stay little, you're growing too fast ))

Somehow I must have blinked and it was suddenly Sunday. My time on the east coast is down to mere hours and soon the setting sun will guide me back west.

I leave Connecticut tomorrow, and while I am in a small slice of heaven writing to you from what I am convinced is the most beautiful library of all time here at Yale (visiting this brilliant lady), I am positively aching to be home.

So many conversations have been had since I arrived Wednesday night surrounding that idea of home, and why Oregon is that place for me. And each time, with the clear hindsight to see God's hand at work putting me exactly where I'm meant to be, I found my heart skipping at the thought of flying in over Mount Hood, my mountain, and settling back into my life.

And though this trip has also spurred the beginnings of an itch to travel more, travel somewhere on my own, not to visit anyone but to just go and be alone for a few days exploring a city and just having time to think in a new place, I know a good night's sleep in my own bed, in my own tiny apartment, in my own little corner of the world is just what I need.

Portland, I'm coming home.

  3. I hope you had the best time...I've loved following your trip on Instagram. Also, I now have the title song in my head, which I actually don't mind at all!
