tasty n sons or, the first great brunch of 2012

recognize that board behind him? yeah, it's in my header... this place is THAT important to me

oh, hi happy diners (we still had about another half hour of waiting to go - i was giving these folks the evil eye as i took this)

bless you, sweet stumptown, for making our wait much more bearable

at this point i was just taking his picture to piss him off (it worked, i think, but he's used to it)

just go ahead and read through that list of goodness

shamoo and jared had some very important decisions to make

glazed yams with cumin-maple

chocolate potato doughnut with creme anglaise

southern pride omelette with hot link sausage, red onions and house-made pimiento cheese

english breakfast (best i've had outside england, hands down)

monk's carolina cheesesteak (jared was about to roll up his pant legs this was so good) (that sounds weird if you don't know him, but that's what he does when food is really good... actually, it's weird even if you do know him)

and the carnage (fear not, i happily downed the rest of that plate in the foreground)

If you live in the Portland area (hell, even if you don't, you must have some miles or a thumb good enough for hitchhiking) I cannot emphasize this enough:

GO TO TASTY N SONS IMMEDIATELY, IF NOT SOONER.
After the best New Year's Eve I've ever had, this was the perfect way to spend the first day of the New Year.

Thanks again Shamoo for bringing me along!

Can't wait for many more dining adventures in 2012... Thank God I live in a city obsessed with food.
